A Guide to Changing the Brother Toner Cartridges in Your Printer


You are suddenly low on toner and need to replace the cartridge but you don’t know where to start. Before doing the next step, know some important things first!

  • Always be mindful when you are low on toner. When the print is faded, it’s already a sign to replace. It is always a good practice to replace your cartridge right away.

  • Don’t be confused between the drum unit and the toner cartridge. The drum unit is where you’ll find the toner cartridge. It’s black in color and what you will usually see first once you open the cover of your printer.

Steps on How to Change Your Brother LC101 Ink Cartridge

  1. Open the cover of your Brother LC101 Printer while it is still on.

  2. Pull out the drum unit. Remember that the toner cartridge sits inside the drum unit.

  3. Push the green lever of the drum unit down. By pushing the green lever down, you will be able to remove the cartridge.

  4. Firmly put your new toner cartridge into the drum unit. You’ll hear a sound which indicates that it has been locked in place. Please make sure that the cartridge is secured firmly and is not loosely placed.

  5. Don’t forget to clean the wire by sliding the green tab from left to right.

  6. Place the drum unit back to your Brother LC101 Printer then close the cover.

Now, you are ready to print again!
