Brother’s New Printer INKvestment

With printer ink becoming more and more expensive, Brother did its part to become part of the solution. Just about 2 years ago, Brother introduced what was known as the INKvestment printer. This was made to compete with Epson’s refillable tank and HP’s ink subscription.

What is INKvestment?

Basically, INKvestment is just a high yield model whose cartridges have an added box. They actually just made the cartridge box bigger so that you don’t have to keep on replacing cartridges. So far, this is available for Brother LC101 ink and a few other Brother printer models.

How to Work Out the Cost of Your New Printer

Estimating and maintaining your printing expenses is hard, but it’s necessary for you to limit your expenses while you’re still getting your own printer. The running costs of your printer will usually exceed its purchase price over its lifetime. It’s essential to know the running costs of your printer before purchasing a new one.

Printer running costs, toner, and ink

Once you’re done identifying your printer requirements and some features, you can now start analyzing the printing costs. You can start by checking first the cost of the ink or the Samsung ML1665 toner cartridges. Most of the manufacturers make their own profits on these. This is why cheaper printers sometimes incur higher running costs.

Original vs. Compatible Ink Cartridges

What is the difference between the original EPSON T200XL ink cartridges and the compatible EPSON T200XL ink cartridges? Original cartridges are those that are new consumables which are produced by a certain printer manufacturer. A compatible cartridge, on the other hand, is a toner cartridge which is also new and is made by a certain third-party manufacturer.

Which is cheaper?

Compatible EPSON T200XL ink cartridges are cheaper than the originals. However, if you buy the originals which are produced by a certain printer manufacturer, there is a guarantee that these will correctly fit and work with your devices. While third-party EPSON T200XL inks can cost cheaper than the originals, sometimes, there is a price to pay in terms of its quality.
